Case 9 Female, 9 years. Papule, cheekShow diagnosis & comments
Spitz naevus with inflammation.
The inflammtory infiltrate is located largely at the base of the Spitz naevus, rather than throughout the dermal component (as is typically the case in halo naevus). There are no plasma cell infiltrates (presence of plasma cell infiltrates being a suspicious finding). The regular spindle-cell ppearance, the regular architecture and the many Kamino bodies help to establish the diagnosis of Spitz naevus, and the age of the patient is of course helpful as well.
