Case 41 Male, 64 years. Recurrent pigmented lesion, 8 years after shave excision (not submitted for histolopathology). Recent growth and increase pigmentation, clinically suspiciousShow diagnosis & comments
(Recurrent) spitzoid superficial spreading melanoma.
Strong resemblance to Spitz naevus, but there is much ascent (pagetoid spread); atypical cellular features; irregular architecture; occasional mitotic figure; the interval of 8 years is suspiciously long. All in all, a verdict of recurrent STUMP was rejected and the lesion was diagnosed as (recurrent) spitzoid melanoma.
