Intradermal naevus, with naevus cell nests bulging into the lumen of a subcutaneous lymph vessel.
Naevus cell nests bulging into the lumen of lymph vessels are not uncommon, but the affected vessels are usually situated within or immediately adjacent to the naevus itself. This phenomenon is probably of pathogenetic relevance with respect to the occurrence of naevus cell nests in some lymph nodes draining the skin, as may be detected regularly in sentinel lymph nodes removed from melanoma patients or, less commonly, breast cancer patients.
