Case 31 Male, 13 years. Swelling of previously flat naevus of neck.Show diagnosis & comments
Halo naevus (removed in relatively late phase)
Most halo naevi are removed earlier in the inflammatory process that leads to its disappearance (leaving a disk-like halo of depigmentation that usually repigments gradually, to the original colour of the skin). In contrast to regression in melanoma, the fibroinflammatory process is similar throughout the leion (intensity and phase) and there is no cytologic atypia or other suspicious findings.
