Cellular blue naevus with degenerative change
Larger and longstanding cellular blue naevi often show degenerative changes: myxoid change (sometimes leading to cystic change), hyaline thickening of vessel walls, diffuse paucicellular sclerosis, fibrin deposition, hemorrhage. However, mitotic figures are rare in such long-standing degenerated lesions and coagulation necrosis is almost always absent.
