Clinical information

Case 19 Female, 21 years. Nodule, intergluteal fold

Show diagnosis & comments

Diagnosis:

Cellular blue naevus

Comments:

Larger and longstanding cellular blue naevi often show degenerative changes: myxoid change (sometimes leading to cystic change), hyaline thickening of vessel walls, diffuse paucicellular sclerosis, fibrin deposition, hemorrhage. Mitosis are absent or rare in such lesions, and with few exceptions, coagulation necrosis is absent. These lesions are usually located in the gluteal area.
